I am sure they understand the actions they took, ultimately had. The people coming on here slathering around the gumbs over how evil these guys are should go and look at the mines the glass from their phones come from or the batteries from that are needed to run EVs. Just because you are 2 or 3 removed from the r*ping of resources every single person living in the west requires just to live, does not mean you are above anyone. For you to live, many things have to die and the greed gene is in every single human being. It is reasonably obvious they realised the destruction they contributed to.

Thank you for such a great documentary. I can't get over how inhumane the conditions were. What they're describing - intense cold, food deprivation, sleep deprivation, constant danger, extreme danger during storms...I knew it would be harsh but this is far beyond what I'd expected. The sailors were so extremely exploited by a clearly conscience-less Mr. Erikkson. I really didn't like how he was glorified as a great man. A shrewd and merciless businessman with no respect for human collateral damage more like. -The conditions are comparative with war time experiences. -There just has to have been an enormous psychological/emotional cost afterwards, for these men and their families. I wonder has anyone written about or made documentaries about that?

Some years ago, I found a model ship (around 110 cm long for around 70 cm high) of the four-mast barque "Lawhill" in a little belgian fries and pitta shop. It was on top of a hight fridge, her masts down, her sails greasy and sticky and verry dusty. While waiting for my food, I proposed 50€ to the guy preparing my pitta and he accepted. I never regreted this purchase. I only saw one model of this ship on the internet as this day.

Let's live now while the living is good. We didn't know what harm we were doing. We had families to look after. When we realised what harm we were doing, had done, we self regulated, then the politicians stepped in. They new what was going on from the late 1970's in new Zealand. Ex Napier fisherman. "Tim's Bank" was 10 miles out of Port Ahuriri. Napier. New Zealand

I hear sharks are getting killed at an alarming pace. It's a miracle there is a fish in the ocean. As a recreation fisherman since the mid 1960s on the mid atlantic US coast it's been devastated. The young kids can't see it because they where not alive then. In the late 60s I used to listen to 80 year olds tell about the fishery at the turn of the century in 1900. It's disgusting.

I was a tuna fisherman in Port Lincoln in the 1960's. The pole fishery was basically sustainable and we stayed away from the schools of fish that were small. I think it was 1968 that the first purse seine boat started. It had come from Europe. That was the beginning of the end as these boats caught the bigger fish that were down in deeper water. It was an exciting life but I feel guilty now about all the fish we killed even if it might have been almosf sustainable.

Trash fish Scientists believe that, though orange roughy normally live in high densities, they migrate to form even denser aggregations for the purposes of spawning. Individuals do not reach sexual maturity until they are least 20 years old (perhaps not until they are 30-40).
